Olivia Adams, RA
Staff Architect
Olivia Adams started with MetroStudio in 2018 and in 2021 moved out of state, but continues to work with the firm remotely. When she was in 5th grade she remembers getting a sketchbook from Disney World and filling the entire book with plans and drawings of homes she had dreamt up. And although modern homes and contemporary design projects are what she would like to explore further, her experience deals mostly in older building renovations with rich histories and unique architectural details.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from LSU in May 2017, Olivia worked for Campo Architects for a year where she learned about renovation projects and historic tax credits. This knowledge combined with the experience she gained when interning at the State Historic Preservation Office during her time at LSU, led her to some of the biggest projects she’s worked on to date. The AC Marriott Hotel in Arkansas and the restoration, re-design and renovation of the award winning Hotel St. Vincent in New Orleans are a couple of the larger projects in her portfolio. One of her favorite projects was the renovation of the Louisiana Old State Capital in Baton Rouge because she was able to learn about historical architecture and its multiple challenges.
Olivia has contributed to several projects at MetroStudio, both residential and commercial, in various stages of completion. These include the completed multi-family Wren St. Development and a large warehouse adaptive-reuse project located in the CBD. Olivia obtained her architectural license in 2021.
She’s most interested in Architecture and its ability to have an effect on people’s everyday lives. She believes that “while most art is only experienced occasionally, architecture is experienced daily in the buildings where we live and work”.
