Heather Gorman
Business Manager
Heather Gorman was born in North Carolina but raised in South Louisiana from a very young age. As the daughter of a social worker and a journalist/book publisher, she has always been interested in people and business, as well as English and the Arts. Beginning in high school, she worked consistently alongside her family at Portier Gorman Publications and Blue Heron Press
learning the editing process, book layout and publishing .
In 2004 Heather received a BA degree from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. Although the arts have always been an interest in her life, her career has taken a more Human Resources and Management tract.
After graduation, Heather started as a Assistant Branch Librarian with the Lafourche Parish Library System specializing in Young Adult services and collections. Some of her responsibilities
beyond Young Adult services included teaching computer classes and participating in the planning and orchestration of the annual Summer Reading Program. After years within the library system, she left to be the Assistant Innkeeper and Event Planner for The Dansereau House Bed & Breakfast. It was here that Heather learned to run “behind the house” as well as learning more about budgets, spending, accounting and scheduling. This led her to Candies Shipbuilders in 2015 as a Human Resources Assistant.
Ultimately, her desire to have a more integral part in small-business management and growth, lead her to take her current position as Business Manager at MetroStudio in February 2017.
Heather lives in New Orleans with her two children and plans on continuing to learn more about business as well as expanding her knowledge of the Architecture world with MetroStudio.
